While preparing to play Dr. Frederick Treves in the Canadian Stage Company production of The Elephant Man (which opens this Thursday at the Bluma Appel Theatre), actor Geraint Wyn Davies was interviewed by The Toronto Star. Among the topics of conversation was his stint as vampire detective Nick Knight in the three season television series Forever Knight.
"You don't set out to be remembered as a vampire," he laughed, "but if that's what made the biggest impression, then so be it." As to getting the series in the first place, he reflected, "It's the kind of thing you don't forget. I was performing Hamlet at the Chichester Festival and getting ready to appear in The Seagull opposite Dorothy Tutin when I was asked to fly back and audition for a TV series... To this day, people stop me on the street and want to talk about it, but most of them are almost eerily reverential about it."
At the same time he's performing in The Elephant Man, Davies will also be continuing his recurring role on the Canadian TV series Regenesis.
